Our Story

Open Trade Network have been seminal in the movement to restore gold and silver coins as currency, even minting pilot runs of coins.

We work closely with other bodies who are involved in getting recognition from Her Majesty's Customs and Excise for using gold and silver coinage in British trade.

The Open Trade Network has strong links to sister organisations overseas in countries where coins are minted and legally used in various aspects of business and trade.

We have also been closely involved in a number of market initiatives including some in Birmingham, London, Norwich, Bevervijk (Holland), our Andalusian-Moroccan Fayre 2004 in Norwich, UK, and most recently our participation in a sister organisation's two markets in Almonastir, Spain and Mertola, Portugal.

We organised in tandem with the Andalusian-Moroccan Fayre a highly successful conference.
